This Privacy Policy explains how AM Creative Coach LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the Alberto application and related services (the "Service").

The Service is available on iOS, macOS, and the web (alberto-amcc.web.app / albertoapp.com), with additional platforms such as Android planned for future releases.

This Privacy Policy applies regardless of how you access the Service.

By using Alberto, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Notes you enter into the app

E. Landing Page Chat Assistant Data

When you interact with the Alberto chat assistant on our landing page:

Chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate responses
Messages are stored temporarily in your browser's localStorage for conversation continuity
Messages are NOT stored on our servers or in any database
Chat history can be cleared at any time using the "Clear Chat" button
No account or login is required to use the chat assistant

F. Lead Capture Data

If you voluntarily provide contact information through the Alberto chat assistant:

First name
Last name
Email address
LinkedIn URL (optional)

This information, along with the chat transcript, is emailed to our team for the purpose of connecting you with a Career Specialist. It is not stored in any database beyond the email system.

G. Chrome Extension Data

The Alberto Job Import Chrome Extension:

Reads job listing data (title, company, location, salary, URL) from supported websites (LinkedIn, Indeed) only when you click the extension icon
Does not track browsing activity
Does not collect personal information
Sends extracted job data to the Alberto web app via URL parameters only when you click "Add to Alberto"
Does not store any data locally or remotely

H. Payment Data (Stripe)

For subscription purchases on the web:

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe
We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or full payment information
Stripe may collect and process payment data according to their privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
We receive only confirmation of payment status and subscription tier from Stripe

I. Payment Information (App Store)

If you subscribe through:

Apple App Store
Google Play
Microsoft Store

Payment data is processed by the platform provider. We do not store full credit card numbers.

If purchased directly via web, payment processing may be handled by third-party payment processors.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the Service
Generate AI outputs
Store and organize resume and job tracking data
Improve product features and performance
Monitor system performance and stability
Process subscriptions and billing
Communicate product updates or support responses
Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party infrastructure and AI providers to operate Alberto.

A. Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase, a backend service operated by Google LLC, for:

Authentication
Database storage
Cloud hosting
Analytics
Crash reporting
Security monitoring

Firebase may process personal data as part of providing infrastructure services.

We use OpenAI to power AI features such as:

AI Resume Review
AI Resume Writing
AI Career Coaching responses

When you use AI features, relevant text inputs (such as resume content or prompts) may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing.

We do not control how OpenAI processes data beyond our contractual relationship with them.

C. Platform Providers

If you download Alberto via:

Apple App Store
Google Play
Microsoft Store

Those platforms may collect and process personal data independently according to their own privacy policies.

4. AI Data Processing Disclosure

When you use AI features:

Your inputs may be transmitted to AI service providers to generate responses.
AI outputs are generated algorithmically and may not always be accurate.
AI providers may temporarily retain data for processing and service improvement according to their policies.

You should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information, including:

Social Security numbers
Financial account numbers
Medical records
Government identification numbers

We cannot guarantee that third-party AI systems permanently delete all submitted prompts.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information:

As long as your account remains active
As necessary to provide the Service
As required for legal or regulatory compliance

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a commercially reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including:

Encryption in Transit:

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS (Transport Layer Security)
This applies to all app features including job tracking, resume data, STAR stories, AI interactions, and account information

Encryption at Rest:

All data stored in our database (Firebase/Google Cloud) is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption by default
This includes your job tracking data, resumes, STAR stories, notes, career data, and account information
Uploaded files (resume imports, documents) are also encrypted at rest in cloud storage

Authentication Security:

Passwords are cryptographically hashed and never stored in plain text
Authentication tokens are encrypted and expire automatically
App Check verification prevents unauthorized API access on supported platforms

Access Controls:

Server-side security rules ensure users can only access their own data
No user can read, modify, or delete another user's information
Administrative access to production data is restricted and logged

Landing Page Chat:

Chat messages are stored only in your browser's localStorage (not on our servers)
localStorage is not encrypted by default — anyone with access to your device may be able to view chat history
You can clear your chat history at any time using the "Clear Chat" button

However:

No system is completely secure
We cannot guarantee absolute security
Transmission of data is at your own risk
Locally stored data (such as browser localStorage or device preferences) is not encrypted by the application

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

Access to your personal data
Correction of inaccurate data
Deletion of personal data
Data portability
Objection to certain processing

10. Children's Privacy

Alberto is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Service Modifications

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

If material changes are made, we may notify users through the app or by other reasonable means.

Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

12. Coaching Session & Scheduling Data

If you are a Dream plan subscriber, Alberto allows you to book Alberto Dream Live Coaching sessions through the app.

A. Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace)

We use Acuity Scheduling, operated by Squarespace, to manage session booking.

When you book a session, the following information may be shared:

Name
Email address
Selected session date and time
Booking status

B. Zoom Video Communications

Coaching sessions are conducted via Zoom.

Zoom may collect:

IP address
Device information
Audio/video data

Live sessions may be recorded for quality assurance or educational purposes.

C. Intake Form Data

Before sessions you may provide information such as:

Occupation and employer
LinkedIn or portfolio links
Career goals
Strengths and improvement areas
Education level
Learning style preferences
Questions for your coach

This data is:

Stored securely within your Alberto account via Firebase
Shared with your assigned coach (Adam Michael, MFA)
Retained while your account remains active

D. Appointment Sync & Storage

Booking details (session date, time, status) are synced between Acuity Scheduling and Firebase to display within the app and allow rescheduling or cancellation.

E. Calendar Export

If you choose Add to Calendar or Add to Google Calendar, a calendar event file (.ics) or calendar link is generated locally on your device.

The Company does not store your calendar data.

13. Community & User-Generated Content

Alberto includes public comment features on course lessons. When you post a comment:

Your display name and comment text are visible to all enrolled users of that course.
Your comment is stored in our Firestore database and associated with your user ID.
Comments are filtered for inappropriate content before posting.
Other users may report your comment, which flags it for review and temporarily hides it.
We reserve the right to remove any comment that violates our Community Guidelines (see Terms of Service, Section 26).

We do not sell, share, or use user-generated comments for advertising purposes. Comments may be retained indefinitely as part of the course record, or deleted at the user's request by contacting us.

Community profile data — including your display name, industry, experience level, and fun fact — is stored in our Firestore database and is visible to other users when you post comments or interact with community features. This information is provided voluntarily and can be updated at any time in your Settings.

In the event of account suspension or termination, user-generated content (including comments and community profile data) may be retained or deleted at our sole discretion. No access to personal data, content, or account information will be provided for terminated accounts.
